Thank you Stephanie for your reply. That is pretty good. I am going to use that when I talk to him. He sort of forgot about it but it still has to be addressed.

Subj:[Dads&Moms] Re: Drug free week at school (Question)
I told my now 17 year old son there are 2 kinds of drugs: medicine and bad
drugs.
Medicine is what the doctor or your parents give you when you are sick or
hurt, or to keep you from getting sick. They are things like aspirin,
disinfectants like Dettol or Polysporin, cough syrups, vitamins,
prescriptions from the doctor.
Bad drugs started out as medicine but people abuse them and take them when
they are not sick. Some people take them once in a while, some people take
them all the time. In either case, they are not good for them. These drugs
make people act different than normal, make them see or hear things that
aren't there, do stupid or even bad things. Bad drugs cannot be bought in
the pharmacy, grocery or convenience store like aspirin or disinfectant.
They are sold my pushers and dealers and are very expensive. They are so
expensive that sometimes people end up selling all of their possessions,
they can't pay their bills or rent, they lose their cars and homes. Some
sell themselves.
I know this is probably TMI, but the above is the harsh reality. Edit as you
like.

Subject: [Dads&Moms] Drug free week at school (Question)
my son is 5 yrs old in kindergarten & its red ribbon week for drug free
kids. He's been waring his drug free wrist band all week.
well he came home & asked me what were drugs & what did they look like. I
told him let me think about it.
What would you tell your 5 yr old ... Or what did you tell your child about
drugs & at what age?
Any advice?
