Odd problem with Canon PS driver

The problem is that at least one character--Unicode 221A, the radical sign--does not print from MS Office 2003. The driver is the most recent win XP postscript driver for the Canon Imagerunner 5000. Unicode 221A will print to this driver from a PDF file, but not from an MS Word or Excel file. It will print without difficulty to the printer's PCL... more »

I have two laptops (XP Home & Vista Prem.) in my home office which connect wirelessly via a Netgear DG834 to the outside world. The Router lives in the hallway, not near the Laptops. I've got a HP2200 printer i'd like to use for drafts. Alas it only has a parallel port but could take a JetDirect Card.... more »

I'm sick and tired of my Epson Multi-purpose printer clogging up. Also, the expensive cartridges with ink levels that drop every time you turn it on, or print one page. As I only print a recipe now and then, or an occasional letter to a bank, and don't print pictures, I thought an inexpensive (b+w) laser printer would... more »

R200 after maket ink

We have a number of R200 and R220 printers we've used for years. Seems there is no longer a supply of aftermarket ink cartages for these printers. What's up with that? Is it a temp or permanent situation?

Hi, In 2002 I reverse engineered the Intellidge protocol and published the details. Even though I defeated the chips I still had trouble with the sockets and corrosion on the head PCB where the sockets connect. This resulted in the printer being broken for four years and requiring a head replacement and other parts before I could get it working again.... more »

H-P Photosmart 8250 and suggested replacements, Pls

Looking for a replacement for H-P's 8250. The 8250 I have prints excessive magenta. H-P support said that it cannot be fixed since "the head is a main part of the printer", i.e. not replacable. (!!) In spite of the reviews, the 8250 did a good job - for my purposes - printing 4x6 images from Photoshop.... more »
