~Tip: Optimize post title and URL (permalink) for SEO

Among things important for search engines include blog URL,(better keep constant to avoid dead links), blog title (can change at will), individual post page URL (permalink), post title. With New Blogger, once you publish a post, the individual post title remains the same even if you change the post title and/or date. Utilize this to optimize individual post title for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) purposes.

Tip: when you first publish a post, words in the title will be reproduced in the individual post URL. If the post title is, for example, "Help for beginning bloggers: Blogger FAQ", the individual post URL may be:

Words like "for" is normally ignored by search engines, and note that words at rear of post title do not appear in individual post URL. My advice is to first put key words relevant to the content of the post when you first publish a post and leave out words ignored by search engines (eg. for, in, a, etc.) as Blogger truncates the post URL. An initial post title may be like "Help beginning blogger FAQ". The individual post URL may then be

Note that a desirable word FAQ which was left out in the first example is included in the post URL in the second example. After publishing the post and getting desirable key words in post URL, you can then proceed to edit the post again and this time put whatever (probably more readable) title you like and the individual post title will not change.
